I Broke My Damn Foot!

I was just walking, for Christ's sake. Stepped wrong and tripped, and my foot sort of crumpled over, sending me sprawling. It hurt like a son-of-a-bitch. When I got up I knew I'd done something bad. Went to urgent care and found out it's a fracture on the fifth metatarsal. My first-ever broken bone.
So now my foot is wrapped, I have a boot and am on crutches which are not all that easy to deal with. I feel like I'm going to put them down wrong, lose my balance and go splat.
It was fun going up to Bill's yesterday. He's on the third floor of a 6-flat. I crutched it up two flights and crawled the rest of the way on my hands and knees. Very dignified.
This is going to put a bit of a crimp in my morning run.

You don't do things like that I do! I sprained my ankle on the 13th, and it still is a tiny bit sore. I stepped off the deck and down I went. I'm the klutz in the family, not you! So your first ever huh? Remember when I broke my left foot when the kids were still little? I crawled up the stairs to get to their bedrooms. The crutches Faith gave me were the ones Wayne had used. They were too big, so consequently, it was hard to use them. Then when we were still in California, I broke my right foot walking from Ruby's Diner. Stepped off the curb. So sister dear, you aren't supposed to be doing things like that! LOL Seriously, sorry you did that. I know how you feel. When you said you crawled up steps, I just laughed. I can see that. Well, I am still ahead of you in the broken bones department!!! Love ya,and take it easy.

I don't remember your broken foot, either one of them. Well, I'm in good company then. But I liked it better being able to say I'd never had a broken bone.

Hi there! I expect you fractured your foot, right? I did mine stepping off of a curb and into a pothole that I didn't see. But, take heart, I was back running in 6 weeks. Probably too soon but my foot is fine. No surgery.
I wish you well.
